Inspection Requests and Instructions
All building, plumbing, and mechanical Building Inspections are contracted out to a third-party inspection service, Safebuilt, LLC. They work directly with staff at the City of Newcastle.
Electrical inspections are scheduled through the Department of Labor & Industries. Visit their website at lni.wa.gov/TradesLicensing/Electrical/default.asp or call 425-990-1400.
The Bellevue Fire Department inspects all fire permits. Fire inspections are scheduled online through the MBP portal. You must select Bellevue as the city and follow online instructions.
Inspections must be scheduled one day prior to requested inspection date. The cut-off time for next- day inspections is 4:30 pm. Any inspections scheduled after 5:00 pm will not be performed until the next business day.
Please use the link and follow the instructions below.
To schedule an inspection:
• Ensure the work is completed before the inspection is scheduled. There will not be availability to cancel on the same day online, and you may not call the inspector directly to do so. It is the sole role and responsibility of those requesting inspections to ensure the work is complete in advance of the inspection request.
• Should you need to cancel an inspection please do so online if it is before 4:30 pm the day prior; otherwise, call (425) 386-4103 or email [email protected]. If your request to cancel is received after 4:30 pm the day prior, the inspection will fail. Future failed inspections may be charged an inspection fee.
• Select Newcastle from the list of cities.
• Enter the permit number in the search bar - not the address.
• Find the inspection(s) you would like to request from the list available for your permit.
• Select the date desired for the inspection(s).
• Do not select dates or windows for any inspections listed except those for which you are currently ready, and need completed. Selecting dates or windows for additional inspections will clear them from your list and make them unavailable to schedule in the future.
Building Finals can only be scheduled if both Public Works and Planning Finals (if required) are Approved on your permit. Building Finals will not be performed in advance.
Fill out the name, phone, and email box at the bottom. Email is required for Newcastle
since it is how you will receive your electronic "Fail" card should your inspection fail.
In the remarks section, please include your name & phone number if you want to receive an ETA of when the inspector will be in Newcastle. A 2-hour window will be provided. The phone number should be a mobile phone as this information will be texted to you by default. If you do not have a mobile number, please indicate if a phone call is required. Please note this box is limited to 25 characters.
