Throughout most of 2020 and all of 2021, the City of Newcastle provided public notice of regular meetings. Notice was provided by online publication and email to those requesting notices of special meetings, which are required to be noticed in this manner. We used this process because video links for remote advisory commission meetings changed for each meeting. This strategy ensured public access to video-conferenced meetings.
However, in 2022, all remote, video-conferenced options for regular Planning Commission meetings will use the same meeting link, passcode, and ID. Therefore, notices of regular meetings will not be needed unless circumstances change. To attend regular Planning Commission meetings remotely, the public can use this link:
This regular Planning Commission meeting link will be provided on the city’s event calendar and elsewhere on the city website in as many locations as practicable. If the meeting links change, notices will be provided. Please note that notices of special meetings will continue to be noticed as required by law and regular and special meeting agendas will continue to be posted in the city’s online document center.
Regular meetings of the Planning Commission are held at 6 p.m. the fourth Wednesday of the month. When meeting in person, the physical location is Council Chambers at City Hall.
