Officer Cross was born and raised in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and immigrated to the land of the free in 1992. He worked for the Oakland Police Department from 1998 to 2004, and for the Seattle Police Department from 2004 to 2015. He has been with the King County Sheriff's Office since 2015.
