The Newcastle, Washington, City Council will hold a special meeting Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at 6:00 p.m. The purpose of the meeting is to recess to executive session to consider matter(s) related to pending or potential litigation and legal risk pursuant to RCW 42.30.110(1)(i). Executive sessions are closed to the public pursuant to state law.
The executive session is estimated to last 60 minutes, after which a regular meeting is scheduled in Council Chambers at Newcastle City Hall beginning at or shortly after 7 p.m.
There will be two public hearings held during the regular meeting:
- 2023 Revenue Sources and Tax Levy Increase Hearing
- 2023 Final Operating and Capital Budget Hearing

The 2023 preliminary operating and capital budget for the City of Newcastle is on file with the Newcastle City Clerk and is available in its entirety on the city’s website to any taxpayer who wants to review it.
The Newcastle City Council will hold a final public hearing on the 2023 budget Tuesday, November 1, 2021. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. All interested persons are encouraged to attend and be heard concerning the 2023 budget. Written comments may be submitted by regular mail at 12835 Newcastle Way, Suite 200, Newcastle, Washington 98056 or by email to [email protected]. Written comment received by 4 p.m. on the date of the hearing will be distributed to the Council prior to the meeting.
